Geek Out in the North: SM North releases upcoming pop-culture events for July-August

This time, North Manila shines.

Anime fans are in for a treat as SM North EDSA unveils its pop-culture lineups for July and August 2026, packed with exclusive merchandise, cosplay meetups, and more.

As part of SM North’s Animezing North initiative, which aims to bring official anime events to Northern Metro Manila, the mall has drawn fans from various fandoms since 2021 with a One Piece exhibit. Animezing North brought exclusive merchandise, interactive areas, and photo opportunities with custom set pieces to anime fans in the North of Metro Manila.

This 2026, Animezing North and the mall’s Collectors Con will host multiple events, with the festivities already underway.

July 3-14: Animezing North: Solo Leveling Exhibit

Marking itself as the first official Solo Leveling event in the Philippines, the exhibit features interactive exercise challenges and booths, photo opportunities with standees of Sung Jinwoo, Choi Jong-In, Baek Yoonho, and Cha Hae-In, as well as official comics, shirts, and other exclusive items.

July 16-30: Collectors Con Year 4

Returning for its fourth year, SM North’s Collectors Con features a massive array of collectibles ranging from figurines to trinkets. This year, Alien Stage's ANAKT High School Series is poised to be part of the event during its global merchandise tour.

The convention will also host its own cosplay meet, which is open to the public.

August 3-16: Animezing North: Kaiju No.8 Exhibit

Marking Animezing North’s first Kaiju No.8 event, this exhibit brings Naoya Matsumoto’s acclaimed work to Philippine audiences. Fans can expect exclusive photosets, interactive zones, and limited-edition merchandise.

August 3-16: Animezing North: One Piece Exhibit

Returning for its fourth year, the exhibit brings Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates back ashore in Quezon City. The installation welcomes fans of the historic franchise with new merchandise and dynamic photo opportunities with the anime’s beloved characters.

SM North’s Animezing North will also host a Pokémon activation this December, building on the success of previous pop-ups for Japanese titles like DAN DA DAN and Jujutsu Kaisen in 2025.
