Patrons of the Arts is pushing through with its two-day regional art market, POTA Regionals: Baguio Winter, this November 8 at the Baguio Convention Center, despite multiple artist cancellations amid the looming threat of Typhoon Uwan.

The event aims to bring the culture of Manila’s art conventions to regional communities by inviting artists from the capital and nearby provinces to showcase their work beyond their usual audiences.

Typhoon Uwan is expected to reach Baguio between Sunday, November 9, and Monday, November 10, with forecasts showing further intensification over the weekend.

This led several artists to take precautionary measures and skip the event altogether, including CoconutBiko, Em Majin, Lei Melendres, and Matcha Cat Prints, who made announcements through their social media pages.

Event organizers stated that preparations had been underway since October and that the team had deliberated extensively before deciding to proceed. They said the event will continue until Sunday to support the artists who managed to travel to Baguio.

Attendees of the event can particiate on the two-day art market at the Baguio City Convention and Cultural Center for 100 pesos.
