Weekly Shonen Jump title "Kagurabachi" to receive TV anime adaptation for spring 2027

The anime adaptation will be produced by Cypic. The dark Shonen Jump series follows Chihiro Rokuhira, a young man inspired to become a master swordsmith, who is suddenly driven by retribution after his father, Kunishige, is murdered by the mysterious organization Hishaku.

Chihiro’s journey follows his quest to retrieve six stolen enchanted blades capable of destroying entire nations and to dismantle the Hishaku crime ring.

"Kagurabachi" takes place in an alternate version of Japan where modern and traditional aesthetics converge.

"Lycoris Recoil" and "Sword Art Online" director Tetsuya Takeuchi will lead the series adaptation. Taihi Kimura is set to voice the protagonist, Chihiro Rokuhira.

Key figures for the upcoming series shared messages with the public regarding the announcement:

Original Author — Takeru Hokazono

"You know the Rock Lee vs. Gaara fight in 'Naruto'? Both the manga and anime versions are incredibly cool, right? The person who animated that scene is our director! Amazing! The whole staff is incredibly talented and has studied the original work deeply. I can't wait to see what they bring to life! Definitely a must-watch!"

Voice of Chihiro Rokuhira — Taihi Kimura

"Being cast as the lead in a series as beloved worldwide as 'Kagurabachi' fills me with genuine happiness. A sword is forged through 'tanren' — repeatedly folded and hammered to build strength. Chihiro is a quiet young man, but deep in his heart lies a conviction as unyielding as a forged blade. I will pour everything into this role so that Chihiro's resolve and way of life truly resonate with everyone. Thank you for your support!"

"Kagurabachi," authored by Takeru Hokazono, has sold over 4 million copies since its manga debut in 2023, with its 11th volume poised to hit the Japanese market May 1.

Muse Philippines and Muse Asia are set to host the official distribution in Asia through their YouTube channels.
